About

The Wool Dispensary was founded in 2011 by the dyeing and design duo Sam Boice and Bree Miller. The two work together to create supercalifragilisticexpialidocious kettle dyed yarns and complementary knitting patterns. 

Our yarns are extremely limited and special. Sourcing from small farms and mills we plan to support U.S. farm industry as much as we can. There are no formal dye lots, which means that each time we dye our yarns, they turn out a little bit different.

About Sam Boice (mercourier on Ravelry)

I used to be a bike messenger that studied theatre, then I was a yarn dyer and consummate knitter who wanted to study psychology. I went to Culinary School hoping to make a chef of myself while working at Nina here in Chicago. I like to collage things and love collecting old pictures and postcards, keys and letters. I also am building an army of onesie tea cups. In my copious amounts of spare time I like to drink good beer and eat amazing food (especially ice cream), play fetch with my dog and surf the internet for screen printed posters.

About Bree Miller (breeanelyse on Ravelry)

My day job is marketing manager for a boutique agency. The majority of my "free time" is spent knitting, designing, reading, shopping and ingesting as many amerimistos as are humanly possible. I also love trying new restaurants and experimental cooking - look ma! no recipe! Most weekends you'll find me knitting, watching my endless supply of movies, or ambling around Chicago with the love of my life, Joshua.
